Facilitator Responsibilities

Facilitators will: 

  • Lead five in-person Coffee Club sessions in their local community 

  • Guide discussion using CFEE’s prepared materials 

  • Encourage participation and respectful conversation among participants 

  • Help create a welcoming and inclusive environment 

Facilitators do not provide individualized financial advice. If complex financial questions arise, they can be referred to CFEE. 

By serving as a facilitator, you help create welcoming spaces where seniors can discuss financial topics, share experiences, and build connections within their community. 

Time Commitment

Facilitators can expect approximately 12–15 hours total for a Coffee Club series: 

  • Five 1-hour sessions 

  • 1–2 hours of preparation per week 

  • Training videos and orientation 

Facilitators receive an honorarium from CFEE for their time. 

Facilitator Role Overview

CFEE is seeking facilitators to lead Seniors Financial Coffee Clubs in their communities. 

Facilitators guide small-group discussions with seniors using CFEE’s prepared curriculum. Sessions are designed to be informal, interactive conversations, helping participants explore financial topics while connecting with others in their community. 

Each Coffee Club includes 10–15 participants and meets once per week for one hour over five weeks

Training & Support

CFEE provides facilitators with the training and resources needed to lead sessions confidently, including: 

  • Training videos reviewing each Coffee Club module (~1 hour total) 

  • A 45-minute group orientation call to review the process and answer questions 

  • Complete facilitator guides and discussion materials 

The Coffee Club curriculum includes sessions on: 

  • Financial wellness 

  • Setting financial goals 

  • Financial confidence 

  • Legal and estate planning 

  • Financial considerations for the future 

 

Who Should Apply

We are particularly interested in individuals who: 

  • Have education, facilitation, or community leadership experience 

  • Are comfortable leading in-person discussions with groups of seniors 

  • Enjoy creating engaging, supportive learning environments 

Financial expertise is not required
